Delete tweets by date

Keep your recent tweets and erase the rest: everything posted before 2020, between two dates, or older than 90 days. X Cleaner filters your tweets, replies and retweets by date before deleting anything.

Demo — fictional account and tweets

Why do it

Old opinionsWhat you wrote ten years ago no longer says who you are today.
Job searchRecruiters scroll back through profiles. A date cut keeps your recent, relevant posts.
A fresh start without losing everythingYou keep your account, your followers and your latest tweets.

With the Chrome extension

  1. Install X Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store and open x.com.
  2. In the panel, scan your tweets (and replies or retweets if you want).
  3. Set the start and end dates in the date filter (Pro).
  4. Check the selection, protect the tweets you want to keep, then delete.

With X Cleaner Cloud

  1. Sign in with X from any device.
  2. Choose "before", "after" or "older than N days".
  3. Optionally keep tweets above a number of likes.
  4. Confirm: the cleanup runs on our servers, even with your computer off.

Good to know

X only lists your ~3,200 most recent tweets. To delete older ones by date, import your X archive: X Cleaner reads every tweet with its date.

Questions

Can I delete all tweets before a specific year?

Yes. Set an end date (for example December 31, 2019) and leave the start date empty: every tweet before it is selected.

Are my recent tweets safe?

Only tweets inside the period you choose are selected. You can also protect individual tweets: they are never deleted.

Is the date filter free?

In the extension, the date filter is part of Pro. In the Cloud, it is included; you only pay for credits.

Ready to clean up?
