X Cleaner is a Chrome extension that lets you clean up your X (formerly Twitter) account, together with the website x-cleaner.app. The data controller is SBS, 16 Place des Quinconces, 33000 Bordeaux, France — contact@x-cleaner.app.
X Cleaner is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp.
To show, sort and delete your content, the extension reads, directly in your browser, the content of your tweets, likes, retweets, replies, direct messages, bookmarks, lists and the accounts you follow or who follow you. This data is never sent to our servers: it only travels between your browser and X.
To perform actions on X on your behalf, the extension reads locally your X session cookie (ct0) and sends it only to X, exactly as the X website does. Your X password is never read or collected.
Your licence key, settings and preferences (for example protected items or scheduled cleanups) are stored in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and are erased when you uninstall the extension.
Like any web server, our server keeps technical logs (IP address, requested URL, date) for security and troubleshooting purposes.
The website x-cleaner.app uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads to measure its audience and the performance of our ads (conversions). No email address or other identifying customer data is sent to Google.
These tools are only used if you accept cookies, via Google Consent Mode v2. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, they are refused by default until you make a choice. Elsewhere they are enabled by default and you can refuse them at any time. When they are refused, no analytics or advertising cookie is stored; Google tags may only send cookieless signals without identifiers.
Your choice is stored in your browser (xc_consent, strictly necessary) and you can change it at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
We do not sell, rent or share your data for any other purpose.
Stripe, Inc. and Google LLC may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to object to and restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can withdraw your consent to cookies at any time. To exercise these rights or to have your account deleted, write to contact@x-cleaner.app. We answer within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.
All exchanges between the extension, the website and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to our servers is restricted and protected.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide and improve the extension's single purpose, is never sold, never used for advertising or creditworthiness, and never read by humans except with your consent, for security reasons or to comply with the law.
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced on the website or in the extension.
